I have to admit that I enjoy my PS3 the most out of all my consoles which includes: PS2, Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, and a Nintendo 64. I do hate the fact that PS3s can't play PS2 games but I like my games on the PS3 More.
My PS3 games: Folklore, Little Big Planet, Sonic Adventures, Star Wars & (More to come I hope.)
Anyone else play favs to their consoles?

Well I used to be a Nintendo whore but after Brawl and Metroid came out for the Wii they stopped offering games with any good caliber. SO now I'm a 360 guy, and killing people on Call of Duty and Halo 3 is second nature.

I enjoy my 360, but I'm a PC gamer at heart.
I prefer shooters, RPGs, and strategy games namely, and those are all done better on the PC than on any console.
I also have a Wii and a PS2, but the Wii only has a game I want every 8 months or so. MadWorld was fantastic. I love the PS2 and think it's one of the finest consoles ever concieved, but I've beaten the hell out of most of my PS2 games. The games I want on the PS3 are usually on the 360 as well, save Metal Gear Solid 4. Just don't see myself dropping the money for another console just to get 1 or 2 games.
PC has had most of my time over the last year, with Crysis, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3 and Dawn of War II. Cool thing is that some of those also have the achievement system that 360 games do, so I get to share my gamerscore across multiple systems. I know achievements mean next to nothing, but I enjoy them.

I have a PS2, PS1, NES, SNES, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, and gamecube.
Pretty much the same thing that happened for everyone else happened to me- I got a Wii when it first came out (same year anyway), but the games started to lax. I didn't finish some of them…
But yeah, I mostly play my 360 now. I used to play a little bit on my PC, but the disc drive broke :/
The games that I play the most right now on my 360 would have to be Fallout 3 and Call of Duty 4. I don't play Halo anymore… even though I've been a great fan for ages. It seems to me it seems like Bungie sold out- I mean, come on, Halo: Reach? thats a Reach man. Anyway, I have bought more games for my 360 but I havent played them in ages. My last batch of games were a trend of dissapointment in Fallout 3's wake. I got Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion (got too bored with it) so I got Fable 2 (which was a dissapointment all around), then Red Faction Guerrilla (fun, but the AI suffered from what I like to call “Gordon Freeman envy”), and finally I got Call of Duty 4- and its a winner. Now hopefully I won't have to buy anything else for a while
Also, nice to meet you Reiychelle !

I don't really think Bungie “sold out” – I don't really see how a game studio can sell out. It's a business. However, I do wish they took more risks in their games. I played Halo to completion about a dozen times, Halo 2 about 5 times, and Halo 3 about 3 times. The games are all competent, but are all pretty the same. By the time Halo 3 came around, I was just tired of the series. If Halo: Reach is a squad combat game of awesome, then I'll be pumped for it. The reason I'm not excited for ODST is that it looks nearly identical. I was pretty interested until I saw gameplay where the player jumped off a 40 foot drop with no damage. Was hoping for realism, but it's just a 5 hour expansion pack with a few more multiplayer maps. More of the same. Yawn.
Call of Duty 4 is likely the best FPS game I've played in the last few years. I'm not counting Fallout 3 as an FPS in this case, as it's got more RPG than shooter elements to it. Luck would have it, the new expansion comes out this Wednesday! Woo!

Woo! Fallout 3 expansion! *highfive*
I can't wait for it… from what Bethesda has done with the previous expansions, they know how to tell an interesting story without limiting gameplay.
Yeah, I see your point… I guess they didn't sell out. I suppose I should have said the games have gotten boring or run of the mill. In levels of enjoyment I have gotten from a FPS has never been as high as COD4. I have likewise played halo, halo 2, and halo 3 nearly as many times as you have… I've just gotten sick of it. I've read nearly all the books and absorbed the backstory to the point where I can vomit the Cole protocol. I seriously cannot expect anything good or original from the Halo series any more. It looked like ODST would be a step away from the bullet hose action hero, in favor of more stealth and guerrilla tactics, but like you said- 40 foot drop. Also DIRECTLY ENGAGING THE ENEMY. Christ, no wonder you see so many marines die in the games- they're all thick!
If Reach can present a new interesting squad based gameplay in par with COD4, then I will seriously consider getting it.

Well, they confirmed Reach would be an FPS, but I really hope it's squad based. If it is I would likely pick it up. But yeah, FPS excellence is yet to surpass CoD4. It had it's flaws, but it was overall an excellent experience. Only other FPS I've had quite so much unadulterated fun with was probably Painkiller. That game was so goddamn ridiculous.
Oddly enough, I've only beaten CoD4 once, then replayed through most of it on veteran. I will say – fuck the ferris wheel mission. I ended up hiding in a far off alleyway that enemies would usually spawn in, but sitting in it kept them from spawning. Basically, I hid there until the chopper was 100 meters away, then sprinted to the guy I was supposed to save and bolted to the helicopter. When I got in, my screen was damn near black because of how much damage I had. Mind you this took many tries. The next mission was absolutely impossible though. Too many respawning enemies who could see you from a million miles away.

People do say that the ferris wheel mission is the hardest on Vet… same with the epologue.
I'm sort of looking forward to Modern Warfare 2, it looks spiffy and there's some real tech-savy gadgets in the gameplay preview they've shown us. So far its looking good.

My console list is pretty one sided: SNES, Virtual Boy (Not fucking kidding: 3 whole games for it. Still runs like a dream), N64, Gamecube, Wii, and a 360, then my Mactop with a Windows side and my aging PC rig. I have my share of games across them all, and I love nearly my whole collection (I have a pretty nice collection too.) I gotta say, the games I replay the most are still on my SNES. I replay Mega Man X and X2 ALL the time, moreso just as a time killer, because I play them so much out of love that they're ludicriously easy for me. Then I replay Gradius III and Axelay all the time as well. Super R-Type gets a share of attention, but that series is so god damned hard.
Oh. I also have a Gameboy Color, GBA (SOMEWHERE. The ONE bit of my collection I CAN NOT FIND.) and a DS.
I've always been a Nintendo fanboy, and I always will. I love all of what I have for the Wii (I even liked Red Steel to a degree.) And I have no gripes with any of it's technology. As for the 360, I also enjoy it…but nothing will ever be able to replace the sentimentality of my Nintendo Collection. I will follow that company till I die. (On that note, I need a NES badly. Seriously.)

Well, let's see how things have changed since 6 months ago, last I posted in this thread.
Borderlands is great.
Modern Warfare 2 is great.
Getting 18 THQ games for $50 off Steam is great.
Getting TF2 for $2.50 off Steam is also great.
Having no money is not great.

It looks pretty good. I watched a friend play it and dicked around a little. The setting doesn't interest me as much as the first one though. Honestly, if they got rid of the shitty sci-fi plot the series would be much better. This is coming froma huge proponent of science fiction here.

I read that it's not that amazing. Sure it's cool to begin with, but it has the same flaws (sorta) as the first. Apparently they tried to fix the grueling repetativeness of the first game by adding new stuff to do. And they did, and it would have worked. But they made the second game much longer, so all the new stuff ends up repeating a crapton too. So it didn't actually fix the problem.
But as I said, this is only what I read. I'm actually largely uninterested in the games since I heard about the sci-fi bits…so I may not play. Ah well.

Well theres a lot of set main story missions to do but for each memory sequenece they either add new things to do mission wise and/or change it up so it isn't the same. And in this one you're not really out of the world of the assassin very often. Maybe like twice for a period of less than like 5 minutes. It's easy to forget the sci-fi aspect unless it stares you in the face and just immerse yourself in the violent mayhem.

I found the first game droll and repetetive – and that's just from watching a friend play it. When you're so fatigued of a game from just watching someone play it for half an hour, there's likely a problem.
The second one looks more fun, but it feels like an Xbox 1 game to me.

Well the first game was pick pocket, eavesdrop, and either assassinate a set amount of goons or collect some strewn about items, then assassinate some dude. Repeat 9 times then youre at the end of the game. Side quests or other things to do? Finding flags and saving civilians. The game was fun for a while but didnt offer more than that. It also had you in the same 3 areas the whole time, spread out over l3 districts in all 3 areas.
The second one HAS side quests (getting the assassin tombs, codex pages, upgrading your shit, then racing missions, beat up events, and assassinations along with finding feathers and treasure if you just wanna unclutter your map PLUS lets not forget the glyphs either) in addition to the mainstoryline missions which actually changed a lot. You also have like 6 areas to roam around in which is much better than the original 3.

Well as I said, I did hear it grew larger…but then added a bit too little which kept it's new things repetative. I have no doubts at all about the scale of the game. And I'm sure some of it is friggin' fantastic.

My favorite console of all time has to go to the playstation/ps2 for giving me FF7, FF9, FFX, Jak & Dax series, Ratchet & Clank, Kingdom Hearts, and Dark Cloud 2. For Next Gen I have ps3 and 360, if games have potential for a lot of DLC i get it on the 360 but i believe the ps3 has a better look and controller thats more entertaining so i get a few games for it over the 360 like Assassins Creed 2 recently, which is awesome. Favorite PS3 titles to date: Killzone 2, Assassins Creed 2, Ratchet and Clank a Crack in Time, and Uncharted 2. For the 360 Fallout 3 kicks ass, DragonAge Origins, Fable 2, Beatles Rockband, Rockband 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Batman Arkham Asylum, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and Borderlands.
