You know what? I was playign L4D with my roommate and The Peter and The Nate the other day, and of course we were split screen, but then when he stopped playing, I had an entire fucking screen to myself.

I shat bricks hahahaha

It makes it easier to tell when a teammate is in danger too. Maybe thats why its not cool in campaign offline?

I played it split screen and couldn't tell what the shit was going on. Too much HUD in that game and too many glowing people through walls. I know it's mostly helpful, but it still makes it pretty hard to tell what's going on. Kind of eliminates the whole purpose of the HUD.

You just aren't use to the whole screen batto. Once you get used to it, you'll see how it's neccessary.

I went through a similar matt-like scenario: changing from my big screen to my bedroom TV, Oh-My-God, the screen is just TOO TINY!

SO I was just playign Versus Mode with Nate and Steven and Max, and we got through the first level without any zombies jumping on anybody or taking any damage at all.

It was 4 on 4 versus, so there were zombies to be had. But the thing is, apparently if you don't have your flashlight on and you're crouched, the zombies can't see you. Period.

SO we crouch-walked through the entire level…priceless. We laughed :D

I've been playing Condemned: Criminal Origins, and I think this would be a great engine to make a zombie game with. Ripping the pipe off a wall to bash in a zombie's face, using sledgehammers, locker doors, and fire axes to kill enemies, and the realistically rare firearm.

It's a pretty good game that I think could make a damn good zombie horror game; multiplayer or not.

I've heard good things about it in the past, I do like thee fact that almost anything can be used as a weapon, but unfortunately with that it leads to many situations where you don't know if the thing you have is better than another one.

Like in GTA Vice City, where you can have like a baseball bat or a golf club…IDKKKKKKKK

They actually tell you the stats of the weapons in relation to what you're carrying – strength, speed, reach, and block. Breaks immersion a little bit though.

I got frustrated with the game and just said “fuck it” though. Got in a really terrible level which is just you walking around a basement trying to find evidence. The problem is, every time you pull out your evidence tools (which is often, since you have to scan with them to see your objective) enemies spawn behind you. It takes 1 second to put away the tools and another to draw a weapon, then a third to turn around. In those 3 seconds you've lost a fifth of your health. Repeat until you die then do the whole thing over again because there's no quicksave function.

Game developers who don't incorporate a save anywhere function in their games deserve to be shot, as does anyone who thinks infinitely spawning enemies is a great idea. I'm looking at you, Infinity Ward and Treyarch, and the crimes you've committed in every CoD game.

Who woulda thought that if you weren't blinding zombies with your flashlight they wouldn't see you…

I don't even use tthe damn thing anymore. Slows down my egotistical sprint through the levels. Cause… they can't fucking stop me.

Usually if I start really owning the hell out of the other team I end up telling my team I'm just going to run full out and that they'll need to keep up with me.

I've run by Tanks, Witches, surprised the hell out of any other special zombie, no flashlight on, just truckin'.

Usually if a match is close I'll actually put this strategy to good use, for example by setting off the zombiesby opening the door in the 2nd level of No Mercy campaign. Maybe I die, but now all the zombies are attacking just me not my entire team. And then there's always the specials following close behind for an easy kill, leaving my team virtually unharmed with a clear walk through the subway station.

Why not just shoot em through the space in the door then run out there?

The strategy is to catch my opponent completely off guard. By stopping I allow all the zombies to close the gap, because i run by everything, I set everything off.

As long as I keep moving none of the zombies catch up to me. Usually the zombies chase me as long as possible, and I flip the switch. Soo now I've got about 100 zombies chasing me around this area, which, if my team is smart, avoids moving too close to my position. When in doubt I jump through the whole in the floor in the turret room and backtrack the entire horde to an alleyway where I can bottleneck them and hold them back strategically.

Unfortunately I usually don't get that chance because the back-tracking lets zombies catch up :/

It's funny, I did something like that. On the same level I opened the door one time, within 10 seconds of the game started before anyone was ready, and the 2 hunters, smoker and boomer ambushed my team. My team diied without killing a single special, so all of the special infected were in the back, while I yelled “…ok, time's up, Leroy JENKINS!” and I just booked it all the way to that door, set both fuel tanks on fire ran back to where the 5 molatvs were, and threw them all setting all the special infected in the area on fire, including the tank, which died.

I made it to the safe-room by myself (mike, you and me did that EXACT level with those idiots who ditched us)

BTW, the new L4D update is out: the survival map pack

They have this new game type: survival and it is INSANE. you have to survive for as long as you can, and i've only lasted 4 minutes on the Lightouse level (new) and we got wasted by the 2 tanks, 2 smokers, 2 boomers, and 3 hunters.

This new game type isn't run n' gunning. it's just how long can you survive?

My record is 4 minutes (lighthouse level- “the last stand”)

That new “Survival” thing sounds more my bag, but I'm not dropping 60 bucks on L4D just to play it. Can you build barricades?

Probably not, it's probably more just you hide in a room and fight off zombies like in the finales… except there's no damn rescue vehicle.

I got two words for ya: Jesus Rock.

10 minutes 21 seconds.

I played with Nate, Max, and their friend Patrick, and I didn't tell them about the rock until nate started it. I qiuckly left my position as the sniper from the top of the lighthouse to go to the rock, with which they called me retarded and that I would die.

They got wasted in about 45 seconds. max attempted to take my spot but got Smokered off the building to his instant death. Nate and Patrick got killed by a tank.

So I hid behind a rock crouched with a flashlight on for over 10 minutes beofre getting bored and turning on tmy flashlight, where I was quickly disposed by a hunter.

Good shit.

so the siliutes (spelling) arent there AT ALL? i mean you can crouch-walk and have no flash light on at all and they cant attack you?

BTW, no you cant build barricades in survival mode: thats nazi zombies

Its not that they cant attack you its that they cant find you so easily. I mean if a zombie is far away they may have to use the silhouette to find the people, but we were all crouched with no lights so they had no idea where we were.

Especially since none of them died because we didn't kill any of them.

BTW, survival mode I could've lasted longer if I wanted. It doesn't matter after 10 minutes. Hell I could've sat there for 30 minutes if I wanted, but why stay there longer when I've got 3 other people waiting on me? Seems rather silly after I've gotten the medal, which is why I got up and turned on my flashlight.

Which only shows how effective it really is being sneaky.
