It's because the modern warfare games risk bashing or glorifying a war that we're in, and with a country divided in opinions about the war they thought some people might not buy it because it would conflict with their view on the war.
I could imagine an extremely liberal person not playing this game because of the glory it brings to the war, or an extremely conservative person not playing this game because of the matter of fighting and “shame” it brings to the US military, what with retarded AI and often incorrect intel.
Not to mention that while Nuke situation. I mean who knows at that point?

I'm incredibly liberal and I loved CoD4, but you're pretty spot on. Current conflicts have always been a touchy subject, with the exception of WWII, where it was pretty plain black and white over who the good guys and bad guys were. Unapolagetically evil fascists versus all that is good and free in the world. That's why WWII still sells so well.

I just wish ONCE that they would make a fictional one where you actually fight Hitler.
Like imagine the exact last boss fight with Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time, except imagine it's Hitler with the mullet and he has two swords instead of no weapons.
That would be so fucking boss. No lie I'd buy a WWII game where you actually get to kill Hitler in it lmao
Or at least he drinks a potion and becomes Super Hitler…or gets in a robot suit, or something! Doing a random battle to win WWII is never a good finisher!
I want Hitler's b lood on my hands! Or at least:
20 Achievement Points = You killed Hitler

That's Wolfenstein 3D. At the end you fight Hitler and he's in some sorta mech suit.
There's a new Wolfenstein coming out soon; hopefully you kill Hitler in that one too.

Yeah I was gonna say Wolfenstein too hahaha.
Of course with new game mechanics and such, I'm sure it can be a lot more epic now.
I'd imagine Hitler having demonic powers instead of some mech suit though. Robotic enemies always seem weaker because they don't use their natural abilities. That's probably why I like Resident Evil shooters over other overly high tech shooters.

Strange…I've never heard of Wolfenstein 3D before…it sounds really intense, but most liely it's not gonna be the same as it was in my mind :/
Ah well

You've never heard of Wolfenstein 3D? It's the first FPS game. DOOM was based on the same engine.

A similarly platformed game was Bible Adventures, and I know you know that one bro hahaha.

Is that the one where you go around as Noah feeding the animals so they go to sleep? Most ridiculous DOOM clone I've ever seen.

YEah it was lmao!
Angry Nintendo nerd ftw!
Although i've seen even worse now though I was on this site a while back which wa srating games based on their level of religious importance.
GTA got no crosses obviously.
Halo 3 got no crosses because Spartans are gay with T-bagging and Cortana doesn't have a shirt on.
Metal Gear Solid actually got 1 cross because it will teach people how to combat the unholy :/
And Tetris…well guys, that game is for Communists. No crosses for Tetris.

They gave crosses as rank symbols?
That is SO odd.

NekoRik on XBox LIVE. Wicked late and everyone here knows it, but for future generations, this will lead the way to killing me in things your better than me at. WAY too much to catch up on. Too lazy. Bad leg falling asleep. Moving to other room to play Axelay.

Ah but rik you possess my absolute favorite quality in a teammate; you rarely die.

As opposed to myself, who usually dies like a motherfucker. Alternately, I'm Rambo and never die. There is no middleground.

I don't die because I sit in one or two good spots a match with my sniper rifle and become content with a max of 7 to 9 kills. I don't get many points for the team, but because I'm not running around like a retarded animal, I don't get shot at a lot either. Depends a lot on the map too, of course.

Estate can fuck itself.
Highrise can set up shop in my heart, since I love that map.
Wasteland can go back to CoD1 where it came from.

I cant remember a lot of the level names but a good few of em are just designed to be sniper camping maps. Its actually turned me off to the game, with how much more camping goes on. Its a little saddening how much I actually like the multiplayer in the older one than this one.

I prefer the multiplayer in MW2, but the maps are less memorable overall.
I loved the SHIT out of single player though. If you choose to discuss it, leave out any spoilers – I'm not letting Rik play the campaign til he beats CoD4's campaign

Because I get most war games for the multiplayer with friends. I'm so used to campaign in those games being “LOL NAZI PUNCHIN'~!” that I have an instinctive reaction of not playing campaign. I just haven't done it yet. I do want to though, now that I know it's worth it. Just haven't mustered the action yet.
