Same deal with Star Wars TFU on the Wii. Why they even try porting some games is beyond me. JUst because its good doesnt mean itll be good on the effing wii.

Well, there's a really strong appeal towards swinging the Wiimote like a lightsaber. We've all done it when nobody was watching, and wanted it in a game for a long time. There are just some games that rely too heavily on advanced graphics or physics engines to run on last generation hardware. Regardless, I still enjoy my Wii, but there are some games you just need to use the big guns for.

I still just wish developers would TRY to do stuff for the system. There's no reason not to…it's more just the stand of
“It needs to look as fucking photorealistic as possible. Melt graphics cards people!” Even if the game has no substance…way too many people will go nuts just because it looks good.
Meanwhile the Wii is sitting over there, neglected, because devs seem to be way to afraid to try to make something for it because it's different. It's fucking bias. No More Heroes and MadWorld are shining examples of how spectacularly good games for the Wii can be. But nobody goes for it. And as a result, everyone bashes the system for having nothing. It's a pretty retarded cycle.

It's not bias, it's money. When a company makes a game requiring so much power to run (I'll use Modern Warfare 2 as an example) they're going to want to make it as polished as possible. They want to implement every feature the game can have, and make it look good, play smoothly, and sound great. As a result, they aim for the highest bar. They don't want to take the time, money, or workload to adapt the game for a less powerful system. Historically, ports to the Wii haven't been very successful critically or financially, so most developers stay away when it comes time to publish the game.
Games for the Wii can be excellent, but unless they're developed specifically for the system, I've been unimpressed. I would rather play a game (I'll use MW2 again as an example) on a system it's designed for than a half ass port. The recent CoD4 port is plagued with framerate issues, even with the incredibly poor graphics. It's just not designed to be on Wii, since developers would rather use their time doing what they already know instead of trying to learn how to develop for other systems and possibly deliver a sub-par product.

I have to strongly disagree with who says the game was bad or impossible to be good, im incredibly good, i played fable all the time so 2 was nothing too new, i had over a million bucks before the end of the game if u just buy property everywhere u go. And every mission had alternative ways to complete them, different ways gave you diff. karma outcomes and the beginning of the game sets up how the world will be, if u turn the warrants or whatever they are to the criminal it turns that town and how people see you all the way around. I love fable 2, the dlc was amazing and i cant wait for 3 to hit shelves next year or so. If anyone needs help with 2 give me a shout.

I still remain indifferent on the Fable 2 bit, but I will go back to the Wii bit, and say that I wasn't saying the system needs ports. Anything running on a system it wasn't made for is bound to be bad…THAT I know. I mean developers need to be making more FOR it. I don't care about ports for the most part, I care about the system being…you know. Fucking used. It bothers me to no end that the Wii has NOTHING coming out for it because everybody and their grandmother feels the need to make everything gorgeous above anything else. So they go to the PS3 and 360, leaving the Wii with exclusive titles, 2 precious other games every few months (or more), and NOTHING else.
If developers would get off their paranoid asses and TRY…then the Wii would be so much better off.

I don't think anyone had a problem with Fable 2's difficulty. It's not a hard game.
Developers are doing what's financially sound. In a time of economic hardship, it's not wise to dump 20 million dollars into a game you don't know will sell. MadWorld and No More Heroes didn't sell especially well, and most games that move for the Wii are E rated and/or made by Nintendo personally. The core demographic of the system is the family market, and in the past games like MadWorld have been lambasted for being “too violent on a family system” – while this reinforces the stigma that videogames are for kids, nobody bats an eyelash when a violent game comes out for PS3 or 360. The Wii has the family market covered, and has sold over 50 million units worldwide while the Xbox and PS3 are just above the 30 million mark. The Wii has the market cornered on the casual gaming market, and aren't going to mess with what's working.
Honestly, it's got the same amount of A-list releases as the Gamecube, and a lot more shovelware. I enjoy it for said A list releases.
